This course is focused on teaching the basic concepts, techniques and foundational aspects of authentic Kathak.The curriculum contains a balance of Taal & Abhinaya lessons. It will enable you to be able to learn or choreograph any song of your choice. However, the curriculum does not contain Kathak choreography on Bollywood songs.

The curriculum of the ‘Introduction to Kathak’ Online Course for Beginners covers practical aspects such as Namaskaar, Shloka/Vandana, Introduction to Teen Taal , which includes Tatkaar, Tihai, Todas, Kavitt, Bol Padhant (rhythmic recitation), Hastaks (hand movements), Hasta Mudras, Chakkars (spins), Introduction to Dadra Taal & Keherva Taal and Abhinaya based choreography on a traditional semi – classical or folk song.

Yes, our classes are conducted in affiliation with Pracheen Kala Kendra which is a prestigious university offering a Diploma course in Kathak. The curriculum of this course is in tandem with that of the university’s syllabus of Level 1 Kathak Dance examination. At the end of this course, you will be eligible and stand a chance to appear for an online examination before a duly assigned examiner from Pracheen Kala Kendra. You will also receive a marksheet and certificate after successfully completing the examination. The examination fees, Rs 2999/- is not included in the above course fees.
